Simply Snickers Prompts: taste, tend, and trail
taste a snowflake on your tongue
the bluster is better for the young
they trek with sled and skates
and throw
the frozen fluff for hours and so
they trail at last to hearth and home
to tend the nose and toes
and some
will have hot chocolate
or hearty soup
boots melt puddles on the floor
shivers by the fire abate
mittens hang to dry
the scarves unwound
from round and round
till warm and dry
pajama clad
the prayers are said
wintery angels put to bed
shivers by the fire abate…Lovely snow. Are you all having some? I’m jealous. So is Mr. Baby.
no – just cold. I always wish for at least one snow. There is something about snow at night. Wishing for some for Mr. Baby.
I enjoyed this…especially after the snowstorm we had this year. It brought back images of when my children were young and loved to play in the snow. This year only the youngest was out tramping in it. He and his girlfriend built a snowman and he proposed to her and gave her a ring. Life moves on. I live in a small town out in Western Oklahoma.
Oh that is so cute and romantic 🙂
I am northeast Texas so I guess a little far to be neighbors. Still, nice to know someone on here in this part of the country!
It painted a nice picture of what am seeing now….so really enjoyed reading this.
Hope you are warm and toasty inside by a fire as you watch the snow 🙂 thanks for stopping by and the sweet comment.
