I think I NEED my coffee in the morning.
28 July 2010 – Safe and clean drinking water and sanitation is a human right essential to the full enjoyment of life and all other human rights, the General Assembly declared today, voicing deep concern that almost 900 million people worldwide do not have access to clean water.

“In Africa alone, people spend 40 billion hours every year just walking for water. Women and children usually bear the burden of water collection, walking miles to the nearest source, which is unprotected and likely to make them sick.”

“according to a report dating back to 1999 and sponsored by the UN Development Program, fighting over limited resources as the scarcity of water, over the next 25 years, will possibly be the leading reason for major conflicts in Africa, not oil.”

I always need my coffee in the morning. These facts on water are horrific – a great theme for Blog Action Day. I tried to embed the widget for the petition and it didn’t work – how did you do that! (or what did I do wrong – haha).
in changing the appearance – there is a section for widgets. You can choose a text widget and paste the text from the petition website and then just choose where you want it ranked on the side. You have two sidebars that look pretty narrow and that may have been the problem – the widget may have just been two wide for your sidebar. I know just enough to be dangerous. I have learned to be careful when I make a change, to be sure I have a plan to back out of it lol
Eye-opening. I think I NEED my coffee in the morning, not to mention long hot showers on demand. Facts like this really put things into perspective.
it made me very ashamed to read some of this.
