Sunday Scribbling prompt #232 : Clean
I’m willing, I’m lazy
I’m just a little crazy
I’m trying to see
what it’s all about
I’m wiser and older
I’m just a little colder
I’m like a kid filled
with self doubt
Hold on
Clouds roll in
Rain washes me clean
Hold on
All that was barren’s
now green
I don’t have the answers
Not even sure it matters
I Wish I could just
figure it all out
I’m happy then I’m crying
I’m very good at whining
Can’t seem to stay on a
straight and steady route
Hold on
Clouds roll in
Rain washes me clean
Hold on
All that was barren’s
now green
Hold on
See what a
new day will bring
tomorrow comes
and washes me clean
This is very good, me, I identify with this.
Thank you Linda. 🙂
I love your use of repetition in this poem Dee..it really added to the feeling of keeping going. I also love the image of being washed clean by the rain and then being able to try again..great stuff..Jae 🙂
Thanks Jae, feeling better after a little rest 🙂
You captured this well, nicely written.
Thanks!
‘hold on’, this is me right now…I liked this.
Thanks Marsha – keep holding!
Lucky is the person who is not filled with self doubt. The rain is such a cleansing force and those showers in your poem were very refreshing.
Love this.
Sounds like an old-time gospel hymns … felt like I could hear you strumming a guitar, humming a tune as you wrote this. Sure you don’t sideline as a songwriter?
thank you and I wish – I was determined to learn to play guitar this summer. Barely got started. Turns out I have wimpy fingers….
still think you have the heart and soul of a songwriter…
nice poem 🙂 i loved the rhyming here and there !!
